Pinterest Tried and Tested: Mummy Hot dogs

Halloween eve last year i got a text from my younger brother (who lives with me) telling me he needed something for his Halloween morning tea at work. This was at 6pm and i wasn’t finishing work till 9pm, RIGHT!!!! My hero this time round (its kind of not a first for both boys) was good old Pinterest. So seeing as I’m doing a series of blogs involving Pinterest we should grab Doc and Marty, jump in our DeLorean and head back to the future, 3 months ago to……….

MUMMY HOT DOGS!!!!!! yay!

Our story begins with me racing to the supermarket, getting my supplies, jumping in the car and driving the 40 mins home to bake these bad boys before i got too cranky and the sweet hum of my bed started calling.

It was all quite simple from then on.

You will need

  • Puff pastry sheets
  • Hot dogs

Slice your puff pastry up into lines, mine were about 1 cm thick. Also cut three slits in your hot dogs. One out the bottom for the legs and then half way up one each sign cut the slits for arms.

With each piece of puff pastry, individual wrap them in an around your arms and legs. Even the head if you pleased. These part is up to your creativity to make it look mummy like.

Place on a baking tray with baking paper and place in the oven on 180 degrees for 20 mins or until the pastry starts to look golden.

As simple as that!
